Part II- (4), V-XII, 1-262, (2), 265-427, (1 blank) pp. 1 title in red and black; Part III- (2), III-VIII, 1-96 pp.; Part IV- (2), (4), V-VI, 1-120; (4), 5-75, (1 blank); (2), 3-84 pp. 1 title in red and black with engraved vignette, 2 titles with engraved vignette. The boards have some wear and partial loss on rear board along the bottom edge. The text and plates are in very good condition Provenance: Signature of J. A. Mongiardini on inside of upper cover. This is a fine compilation of Morgagni's investigations and commentary on his teacher Valsalve. An unusual collection of major works by Morgagni who "was a prodigious worker and prolific writer, although most of his writings were very specialized, dealing with a single condition of pathological anatomy, a single portion of the anatomy, or classical and literay subjects. The present collection (re. Opuscula miscellanea ) of some of his lesser writings includes tracts on gallstonees, certain medico-legal matters, letters to Lancisi on the manner of Cleopatra's death, and Morgagni's biography of his teacher, Valsalva" (Heirs of Hippocrates, p. 274-275).
