Apparently disbound from a larger work. 20 pp. A patriotic speech reflecting on the importance of liberty in light of the celebration of American independence, referring to the tyranny and oppression of Great Britain, as well as the struggles by American colonists, and the importance of people such as Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and others. Given by Doctor James Mann of Massachusetts who served in the American Revolution, in Shay's Rebellion and War of 1812, often speaking out against the unsanitary condition prevalent in hospital camps (US Army Medical Department Office of Medical History). GOOD+ condition. Minor foxing and toning, with faint staining to the title page. Remains of binding along the spine. (See Sabin 44328 for a brief record of this). Bookseller Inventory # 008362
