Bulletin of the American Museum of Natural History volume 27 (whole issue). This is Gregory's massive work on classification of the Mammalia, both living and fossil. Gregory addresses all of the controversial issues in the paleontological and neontological classification of the Mammals from their origins in the Cretaceous up to the evolution of modern species. Original signature of author, William K. Gregory, is attached to the second front endpaper. From the library of B. G. Smith of Ypsilanti, Michigan, dated 1913 on the front free endpaper. Later from the library of W.H. Sassaman of Cleveland, Ohio, dated March 9, 1943 on the front attached endpaper. A very rare work that bears the author's signature.
