Poole was not only the creator of the "Periodic Index," but also president of the American Historical Association, the first librarian of the Chicago Public Library, and the first librarian of the Newberry Library. 8vo. 38 pp. Original wrappers. Ex-historical society copy with stamp inside. Covers chipped at spine, and nearly separated. Creased from being folded lengthwise. Front cover has a crayon mark and inked notation in top margin. Title-page also has a small crayon mark. Edges and corners lightly tattered. A few pages abraded in top right corners resulting in small holes, without touching printing. Bookseller Inventory # 3572
