A significant run (lacking the first three issues) of this short-lived enigmatic underground newspaper that according to associate editor Howard Pearlstein existed in an "interesting reality that hung between the traditional Berkeley leftist point of view of publisher Christoper Weills and the Eisenhower Republican perspective of editor Gerard Van der Leun." The paper featured two color covers with black & white interiors and a centerfold poster. The content was often a confusing mix of gender bending eroticism, alternative religious exploration, political leftism, countercultural anti-authoritarianism, with issue five featuring a lengthy exploration The New Right. Notable content for the issues included here (nos. 4-9) include a centerfold poster by Robert Crumb (issue 4), a special report on the New Right that explores Scientology, The Process, Hare Krishna, Synanon, Randianism (Ayn Rand), a profile of the Cockettes, lengthy interviews with a San Francisco sex worker and a "militant tranassexual" (also, Jerry Garcia, Country Joe MacDonald and other musicians) coverage of the Kennedy assassination and the Battle of Berkeley, "Notes for a Novel of the Revolution" by Tom Clark and Tom Veitch, articles on drug and motorcycle culture, a profile of H. P. Lovecraft, underground comix, etc. Side-folding tabloid format, each issue 36 p., illus. A near fine run.
