About this Item

Original autographed letter signed by Richard Midgley. New York City. 3 pages. Dated September 22, 1948. 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 inches. Written on "The Lambs, New York stationary". Richard Midgley (1910-1956) was an American actor. He appeared in three Broadway plays and also had two appearances in early television. This letter is written by Richard to his brother Charles. Charles Midgley (1899-1985) was both a jazz and classical piano and composer. He played in Horace Heidt's orchestra in the 1920's and also composed music. After 1950 he lived in Sacramento and continues to write music. In this letter, Richard writes his brother Charles in Hollywood that he has bone to Charles' New York agent "Shubert" and asked for the return of a waltz that Charles had left with the agent. Richard also adds that his career (as and actor) is proceeding and that it "looks like a good season" in New York. Letter has been folded. Letter is clean. Bookseller Inventory # 018363
