Photograph (3 1/2 x 5 inch) with stamp of "Edmund Reeves, 212 Pleasant Street" at the bottom of the card. The Archbishop is in full religious outfit. John Ireland (1838-1918) served the community of St. Paul Minnesota for almost half of a century, from prelate to Archbishop. He was an influential figure both in the church and civic community. He served as a chaplin in the Civil War and organized colonization of Irish Catholics from 1876 to 1881 into the Dakotas and Minnesota. Bookseller Inventory # 10944
