circa.1870. Original Carte-de-Visite photograph (2 3/8 x 4 inch) with publisher's name printed on the backside. Image of Tennyson seated looking to his right with an overcoat. Alfred Lord Tennyson (1809-1892) was a noted poet of England and served as poet Laureate for England under Queen Victoria. He was the first author to be raised to a member of the House of Lords. Very good clean copy with small chip missing (1/8 inch) from the lower right corner. Name across the bottom. Bookseller Inventory # 12140
