Photograph 2 1/4 x 3 3/8 on photographer's backing. Mrs. Crittenden was the third wife of the American politician John J. Crittenden. She was the widow of Gen. William Henry Ashley when the Crittendens were married in 1853. This photograph was "Published by E. Anthony 501 Broadway, New York, From Photographi8c Negative from Brady's National Portrait Galley" (from the back of the card.
