Original handwritten letter by Christopher Morley. 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 inches. Dated June 6, 1932. Letter is signed by Christopher Morley. Morley (1890-1957) was an American editor and writer. In this letter to a Mr. Klinefelter (likely Walter Klinefelter, 1899-1987), Morley shies away from an apparent request by Klinefelter to publish a work by Morley in pamphlet form. As an alternative to satisfy Klinefelter's fan admiration, Morley offers to sell klinefelter a short manuscript ( 11 pages) that Morley has written on Sherlock HOlmes. This manuscript is likely "McMoriam: Sherlock Holmes" which was first published in "The Saturday Review" in 1930 and later as a preface to "The Complete Sherlock Holmes." This letter is written on both the front and back, making it 2 pages. The letter is written on "The Saturday Review of Literature" letterhead. Letter has been folded in half. Copy is very clean.
