Original Universal Pictures studio master key book of thirty-nine black & white stills from the classic World War II film ÔMacArthur.Õ Each still measures approximately 9Ó x 7 1/4Ó and is backed with linen, with verso text indicating the details of the individual image as well as general film information. Many of the photographs are candid shots of the cast on set. Also there are a number of shots of scenes that were deleted from the final cut including MacArthur meeting with figures like Franklin D. Roosevelt, Chang-kai Shek, and the famous kissing the hand of Madame Chang incident. Bound in royal blue cloth with Ò2093 MACARTHURÓ in silver stamped to the spine. Fine condition. ÔMacArthurÕ was directed by Joseph Sargent, and starred Gregory Peck as Gen. Douglas MacArthur, Ivan Bonar, Ward Costello, Nicolas Coster, Marj Dusay as Mrs. Jean MacArthur, and Ed Flanders as President Harry S. Truman. The film relates the life story of General Douglas MacArthur, Supreme Allied Commander during World War II and United Nations Commander for the Korean War, and follows his remarkable and controversial military career through to his forced retirement after being dismissed from the Army by President Truman. Gregory Peck received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Motion Picture Actor - Drama.
