Excellent image of a brook trout rising to take a mayfly on the surface of a rocky stream. Connett, proprietor of the Derrydale Press, was a regular patron of the artist's work. The same year this print was produced, Connett commissioned a drypoint etching of a Woodcock for the deluxe issue of Upland Game Bird Shooting in America. Schaldach was also one of the artists commissioned to illustrate American Big Game Fishing (1935)An uncommon print and a superb association. Illustrated in Fish (1937) at item 23.
