About this Item

A tight and bright oversized volume measuring 12 1/2" at the spine edge, has 100 tight and right unpaginated leaves without tears or soil. Beige cloth board tips rubbed with slightly darkened beige cloth at extremities. DJ in new mylar is a professional reproduction that is darkened w/age but still displays well w/small chips at spine ends. A lovely compilation loaded with full page and vingnette drawings of men and women astride and aside all in search of Charles James and the various natural obstacles encountered by these brave and foolish souls, followed by a short chapter on the hell-raising sport of HOG HUNTING (PIG-STICKING) and the hair-raising triumphs and pitfalls of the Show Jumping circuit in 'POT' HUNTING. Much sought copy. The image we have selected to showcase here is charming. Comment on left reads "Dealer's son mounted on the family horse for the Laidlaw Cup", and underneath that the young boy asks: "Will I lep or slither Dada?". Bookseller Inventory # 23969
