About this title

Synopsis:

The son of a hard-working immigrant, Clarence Davids carried on the tradition of honest work and fair business practices to build one of the most successful landscaping businesses in Illinois. He left school at the age of fifteen to begin "life" in the real world. This was the beginning of an education that took him from the Army/Air Corps during WWII to landscape architecture, where he excelled.

In 1951, Clarence Davids had the opportunity to begin his own landscaping company. However, that is only one phase of a very full life, which he balanced with family, church work, philanthropy, politics, teacher and business associate. Early in his career he helped launch the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association, known as the ILCA to continue his quest for professionalism and honesty in the landscape trade. The legacy he leaves is that of a Christian in business, which he feels in most important these days.

This book is his life story, which includes his earlier experiences of living during the Depression and World War II.

About the Author:

After 48 years with his own landscaping company, Clarence Davids has retired in Holland, Michigan, where he resides with his second family. He is the father of four children, and 12 grandchildren and great-grandfather to two.
