About this Item

First biographical story of the life of the great golfer, Ben Hogan, by his friend and fellow Texan who watched Hogan as he developed into the premier player of his time. Demaret himself was a three time Masters champion and published this book the year after Hogan wom his 1953 Grand Slam winning the Masters, the U. S, Open and the British Open in the same year 1953. (The PGA overlapped the British Open that year), The book is tightly bound, clean pages, no name or markings, with some slight wear at the top of the spine and the corners. The DJ is not price clipped ($2,50) no big chips or tears, some slight wear at he spine folds and the corners with tiny chips at those points. The DJ is not laminated at those in modern times and shows some age tanning and soiling especially on the white portions of the rear panel. Now protected by a removable mylar sleeve. A rare book especially with the fragile dust jacket. Bookseller Inventory # 003279
