1st Printing. Signed. 16 pages. Published in 2010. Artist Book. The 63rd title in the now-legendary "One Picture Book" Series by Nazraeli Press, one of the most superb ongoing projects of contemporary art photography. Limited Edition of 500 numbered and signed copies. Accompanied by one tipped-in, original print by the artist/photographer (hence the Series' name). An elegant production by Chris Pichler: Small-size volume format. Titles on the cover and spine, as issued. Photographs and text by Alec Soth. Printed on pristine-white, archival stock paper to the highest standards. Without DJ, as issued. Presents Alec Soth's "One Mississippi". His very first contribution to the One Picture Book Series. "In March of 1992, Rachel and I made a road trip down the Mississippi River. Along with our German Shepherd, Tasha, we travelled from our home in Minnesota to Memphis, Tennessee'. The twelve images that follow - eleven reproductions and one original photograph - are all previously unpublished. They convey wonderfully both the innocence and excitement of what was to become an epic journey" (Publisher's blurb). "One Mississippi" is the sequel, if you will, to that epic journey, which resulted in Soth's masterpiece, "Sleeping By The Mississippi" (1999). An absolute "must-have" title for Alec Soth collectors. This copy is one of the Limited Edition, indicated as such in pencil on the Back Limitation Page. It comes with an original color print that is very prominently and beautifully signed in black ink-pen on verso by Alec Soth. This title is a great art photography book. As a regular trade edition (that has since been reissued in multiple subsequent editions), "Sleeping By The Mississippi" did not come with a print. This one does, and it's a beauty. This is one of very few copies of the Limited Edition still available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright, a pristine beauty. Please note: Copies available online command more than $800, which is where this title's value is headed. This is surely an accessible and lovely alternative. A rare signed copy thus. 11 color plates, 1 original color print. Alec Soth's "Sleeping By The Mississippi" was selected as one of the greatest photography books in "The Photobook". One of the most brilliant photographers of our time. A fine collectible copy. (SEE ALSO OTHER ONE PICTURE BOOK AND ALEC SOTH TITLES IN OUR CATALOG) ISBN 1590052811. Bookseller Inventory # 20060
