Decorative binding of maroon cloth with gilt stamping to spine and front board; light rubbing to boards, spine cloth mildly faded with fraying and short tears at spine ends, surface residue near spine heel as if from some removed sticker but no institutional markings present in book. Gilt top edge; foxing to deckle fore-edge and bottom edge. Foxing and toning to endpapers; some foxing to several initial and terminal leaves; scattered light to mild foxing upon interior leaves which, overall, remain quite clean. Binding retains some crispness. Still a handsome very good- copy. Features 29 color illustrations (including frontispiece) all on unpaged leaves by Byan Shaw. No publishing date is specified but OCLC citations list dates as early as 1906 and as late as 1918.
