About this Item

4 1/2 x 7 3/4 in. 239 pgs, plus adverts. Thin buff cloth-covered boards with printed paper label on spine. The advert pg after the title pg is headed by the words "Nearly Ready", making this a true US first edition, with original thin paper binding and label. Condition is GOOD ; corners and edges worn, covers were originally a pale red but front and spine have faded to buff, back is still red. There is a red line in a loop on the cover, possibly some accident to do with the original cloth. Label is slightly chipped and rubbed, endpapers and text have moderate foxing, binding is very solid and overall this copy is in far better condition than most, the original binding having been rather poorly executed. Two previous owner's bookplates on front pastedown. Fiction. RGR. 0.0. Bookseller Inventory # 4837
