About this Item

Seven essays on poetry and nine essays on poets by the famed Nobel Prize winner. All of the essays in this book were written after 1936 up until 1956. Included is a long essay on Goethe, Samuel Johnson, not previously available in the U. S. Others are on Virgil, Davies, Milton, Byron, Kipling and Yeats. Book is tightly bound with only the slightest shelfwear. Previous owner's name and date are handwritten on the top of the front free endpaper. DJ shows some edgewear, the worst being the foot of the spine which is chipped and reinforced with archival tape. Not price clipped. Now in mylar cover. Bookseller Inventory # 002160
