Environment Canada, Fisheries and Marine Service , Ottawa, 1974. 18.5" x 24". Contained in a light brown cloth oak framed clamshell box, with "a bas-relief of a Haida salmon in simulated argillite." attached to the front cover. This large, lavish portfolio was published in conjunction with the Third United Nations Law of the Sea Conference, 1974, and ".intended for presentation to Emperors and Queens, Prime Ministers, Presidents and rulers, others for Princes. Cabinet Ministers .still other copies were designated for secondary state officials, universities and colleges, national archives, national libraries and businesses" (Cave). This copy, which is lacking the book titled The Salmon, contains the silver paper covered cardboard frame for the missing book, and five 17.5" x 22" brochures: [1] "The Salmon; Canada's Plea For A Threatened Species" (which is foxed on front cover), [2] "The Ceremony Of The First Salmon", [3] "The Atlantic" which contains only 4 of 5 color prints (lacking "Salmon male"), [4] "The Pacific" containing only 3 of 5 color prints (lacking "Chinook Salmon" and "Coho Salmon"), and [5] "The Cycle" containing only 3 of 6 color prints (lacking "Run Of Sockeye Salmon", "A Sockeye Salmon", and "One Salmon"). Also included is a black paper folder titled "The Legacy", which contains only 1 of 5 silkscreen prints ("The Salmon"). Incomplete, lacking 10 plates and the book, but very scarce.
