About this Item

First Tower/World Edition, printed from 1941 William Morrow 1st edition plates. Fine in price-clipped and edgeworn dustwrapper, a colorful portrait of a gunman in action. One of a series of "Powder Valley" westerns. The jacket asks us to "suppose you sold a herd of horses to one of the shrewdest traders in Colorado -- and a short while later the horses died mysteriously." And that's only the beginning. When our big, tough hero goes to see the buyer and square himself, he discovers he's also been framed for murder. It's up to Ezra to doggedly track down the real killer before the law tracks him. Author Harry Drago was both a Buffalo Award winner and a Western Heritage Award author, who published under his own name and a handful of pseudonyms more novels than you can shake a stick at. President Eisenhower said his two favorite authors were Bliss Lomax and Will Ermine, apparently unaware that these were both pen names for Harry Drago. Many of his tales were turned into B movies of the 1920s, 30s, and 40s. Bookseller Inventory # 5270
