8vo. unpaged [28p.] Illustrated with four black and white captioned photos, including several of John Lambert Vander Las, the subject of this biography, and four pages of facsimiles, including Vander Las' homestead grant. Stapled booklet in white wrapper printed in black. Just hints of wear to extremities, a few tine dings to front panel, wrappers very lightly soiled, corners square and flat, else near fine to fine with no internal markings. Written by his daughter,Bernita Vander Las Dice, this is the biography of John Lambert Vander Las who homesteaded in the southwest corner of North Dakota in 1907. Subsequent moves took the family to Sandpoint, Idaho; Gering, Nebraska; Boulder, Colorado; Des Moines, Iowa; Herlong, California and, finally, Southern California. At the end of the volume in the hand of John Lambert Vander Las are two pages entitled "Family Records of John Vander Las, Sr." which list the descendants of the family to which the subject belonged, beginning in 1816 in Eibergen, Province Gelderland, Holland.
