[Cat 2020] 200037z.-Back in the 1950 s, I bought lots of seals fur for dubbing bodies on trout and steelhead flies. I did Mail Order from E. Veniard or S&G Messena. When went to Europe for 9 months in 1961-1962, I visited both companies & bought material to tie salmon flies for Charles Ritz. I was surprised at how small both operations were. I was used to Rough & Ready Feather Merchants who bought in materials by the barrel from all over the world. Veniard told me that Rough & Ready got all the good game cock capes from India, and they could only get the leftovers. This 1949 Catalog is more comprehensive than their later catalogs.
