This SCARCE FIRST EDITION of the ENGLISH TRANSLATION is in NEAR FINE condition with a NEAR FINE dustjacket. Copyright page lists original German issue in 1914 with 1968 copyright to publisher MIT Press; with no other dates or subsequent printings. Illustrated with black & white photos & illustrations. Book is in NEAR FINE condition with grey cloth binding with bold and bright silver gilt lettering on spine. Book's spine tips and corners are true with binding and insides tight, bright, clean and unmarked. Blank bookplate on left REP otherwise there are NO other previous owner's or library markings, NO FOXING and NOT a book club or remainder edition. DW has inside flaps glued to endpapers very neatly in NEAR FINE condition. Book's flaps are unclipped although there is no price point listed. DW has textured black paper boards with subtle blue and grey lettering and decoration. DW's spine tips and corners are true with very mild edge wear on bottom edge. Book's subtitle is THE FOUR PHASES OF ARCHITECTURAL STYLE, 1420 - 1900, Translated from German and Edited by James F. O'Gorman, with Foreword by James S. Ackerman.
