Frontispiece color plate plus 55 full-page plates on heavy coated stock, mostly photos, some in color, some plates with multiple images, plus 72 black and white captioned Figures. Index. Maroon cloth blocked with a double black line on the front cover and with gilt letters on the spine. Very minor wear to extremities, with nothing close to rubbed through, a couple of small spots on the covers, cloth clean, gilt bright, previous owner's signature (Theo. J. [L.?] Kimball), all plates present and in fine condition, else very good to near fine with no internal markings. George Knapp Abbott [1880-1959] was Dean of Faculty and Professor Physiologic Therapy and Practice of Medicine in The College of Medical Evangelists and Superintendent of The Loma Linda Hospital in Loma Linda, California.
