First edition ("Bicentennial Edition" as stated upon title page). vi, 178 pages. Hardcover: H 28.75cm x L 22cm. Pictorial dust jacket rubbed and lightly soiled, subtle toning to spine and front panel, spine ends nicked, short tear at head of front flap fold with associated short crease at front panel's top right corner. Pictorial cloth boards, spine slightly cocked. Edges toned; strong toning to pages 8-9 caused by a now removed irrelevant newspaper clipping. Interior pages are otherwise quite clean. Foreword by Alabama Pharmaceutical Association Director Launia L. Thagard; b/w photographs and illustrations throughout. Interesting history of the pharmacy industry in Alabama with much on local community drugstores and pharmacists in both the state's rural and urban areas.
