53 + (162) PAGES OF B/W PLATES. WATER AND RING STAINS ON FRONT COVER CLOTH. THE COVERS ARE DAMP STAINED AT THE TOP. THE INTERIOR TEXT AND PLATES ARE IN VERY GOOD AND TIGHT CONDITION. ALL EDGES ARE GILT. SZUKALSKI WAS A "BOHEMIAM" POLISH ARTIST WHO WAS PART OF THE CHICAGO LITERARY RENAISSANCE GROUP ALONG WITH BEN HECHT, CARL SANDBURG, MAXWELL BODENHEIM AND MARGARET ANDERSON DURING THE 1920'S IN CHICAGO. HE RETURNED TO POLAND AND PRODUCED MANY SCULPTURES THAT WERE HOUSED IN A NATIONAL MUSEUM. MOST OF HIS SCULPTURE WORKS WERE DESTROYED DURING WORLD WAR II IN POLAND. A FEW OF HIS SCULPTURES CAN BE FOUND IN CHICASGOLAND CEMETARIES. Size: 10 7/8" X 12 1/4". Bookseller Inventory # 222601
