A history of the origin and use of the Chinese alloy Paktong, a combination of copper, zinc and nickel. While providing the luster of silver, it did not tarnish and was used to decorate firegates, used in candlesticks and other objects. In GOOD condition, , EX-LIBRARY (From the Strawbery Banke Museum reference library). Library bookplate and pocket present in the interior, with call numbers in pencil on the copyright page. Call number sticker taped to the lower spine. Several library stamps present on the interior. Some scuffing and soiling to the leather, with uneven fading, mostly along the spine. Extremities rather scuffed with the leather worn at the corners and several locations along the edges. Leather scuffed and worn along upper and lower hinges. Interior clean and solid.
