Book Description Farrar & Rinehart,, New York:, 1932. Hardcover. Book Condition: Very good condition. First American edition. A son and father collaboration, this is a semi historical novel about pirates and the looting of Panama by Philip, son of Norman Lindsay, who painted the magnificent watercolor illustration for the dust jacket. Norman Lindsay was working with the major American illustrators of the day including Flagg and Groesbeck, and being well paid for his work by Stanley Rinehart of Farrar & Rinehart as well as by Cosmopolitan. The novel, about the Pirate Captain Henry Morgan, is a story of drinking, fighting and wenching. Morgan and his pirate gang march across central South America to loot the city of Panama, and Morgan romances the Governor's daughter. This work carries on Philip's and the Lindsay family's fascination with piracy and historical novels.8vo, 346pp. Bright red cloth boards with title printed in blue at front board and spine. With pictorial mylar protected dust jacket, with pirate illustration by Norman Lindsay, .
