Contains: (1) A 2 page 1908 review from the Journal of Philosophy of the article "Die Wiedergeburt der Philosophie" by Carl Stumpf; (2) "Two Extensions of the Use of Graphs in Elementary Logic", 15 pages in the original wraps (front wrap detached), 1909, Univ. of Calif., Berkeley; (3) "How Ideas Reach Reality", offprint from the Philosophical Review, 1910, 19 pages, front wrap detached; (4) "The Significance of Bergson", 24 page offprint from the 1914 Yale Review, front wrap detached and heavily edge-chipped; (5) "The Holt-Freudian Ethics and the Ethics of Royce", a 28 page 1916 offprint from the Philosophical Review; (6) "Progress in Philosophical Inquiry and Mr. Lovejoy's Presidential Address", 24 pages, offprint from the 1917 Philosophical Review, Hocking being one of the authors quoted in the article; (7) "The Influence of the Future on the Present", 6 pages from the Harvard Alumni Bulletin, April 9, 1925, (8) "What Does Philosophy Say?", a 23 page 1928 offprint from the Philosophical Review; (9) "Action and Certainty" (on Dewey), a 14 page, 1930 offprint from the Journal of Philosophy. The book is clean and is tightly bound. Slight fraying to the spine ends, with the spine being hand-lettered, with library labels. Library bookplate and discard stamps.
