Book Description Dana Estes & Commpany, Boston, 1900. Hardcover. Condition: Good +. No Jacket. First Edition. Light wear to the corners and the tips of the spine. It has two signatures of previous owners, one of who was stationed in Honolulu between World Wars One and Two. Although a book for older children it is interesting for the adult who knows little about Hawaiian history. From Chapter 13: "Within a hundred years the flags of European countries have floated over the islands four times: first, the Russians in 1815; second the French in 1839; third the British in 1843; and fourth the French again when Admiral Tromelin, of the navy of France, seized the fort at Honolulu. It was in February 1893 that the United States assumed protection of the Hawaiian Island and ultimately took possession. For those who have never had the opportunity to visit Hawaii, try and fit it in. It is a beautiful country and a wonderful state. Seller Inventory # 9232018b
