Gilt titling against blind floral decoration to a sunken central section of both boards. Gilt dentelle edges. Red and gold head- and footbands intact, and AEG. Two brass latches to fore-edge. [8]+[VIII]+[52]+[10]+[16]+[unpaginated]+[16]+[104]+[32]+[16]+1342+[unpaginate d]+[16]+[4]+[unpaginated]+[44]+[36] pp. Numerous illustrations, engravings, and colored maps and plates throughout. Reading copy only. Boards detached and spine leather lacking. Some edgewear, and one rear latch bent, with damage to surrounding leather. Layers of head-and footbands separating, and headband loosening from front joint. Preliminary pages (through frontis) detached. Pages toned and brittle. Pages 1023-1026 detached.
