About The Author:- Lt. Colonel M.D. Sharma was born on 28th February 1967 at Chandigarh in a family of academicians. He graduated from Punjab University, Chandigarh in 1986 and completed his post graduation from H.P. University, Shimla. He has worked as a research fellow with "CRRID"(Center for Research in Rural and Industrial Development) at Chandigarh before joining the noble profession of arms. The obsession to join the olive green and to contribute his bit in the nation building, he joined the prestigious institution of Courage, Strength and Valour, IMA, Dehradun in the year 1990 and was commissioned as an officer in 1991. Since then Lt. Col. Sharma has a varied experience of serving in Counterinsurgency in Jammu and Kashmir on one hand, and to fight the scorching heat of deserts of Thar on the other. He has to his credit the opportunity to serve with various armoured and mechanized formations as well. Till now he has authored a number of books and research papers on Military Literature.
