202 pages. 36 x 28.4 cm. 202 steel engraved views on 101 mounted sheets (India Proofs, each plate with two images) as issued with tissue guards. Published 1829-1931. Topographical and historical descriptions by L.T. Ventouillac. An architectural draughtsman, he worked for Nash for several years before setting out on his own [see: BRYAN Vol.IV, p.166], and was instrumental in reestablishing the Gothic Revival movement in England. Text in English and French. Scattered plate offsetting, with all plates clean and bright. Two volumes in one. Contemporary gilt lettered gilt lined three quarter morocco and dark brown cloth. Teg. Very good/Near fine.
