About this Item

Three-panel illustrated brochure promoting the showing of the film at the Strand Theater (together with four acts of Vaudeville); very good. 5x7 inches when folded. The film was released in 1915, but we find a theater with this name opening in 1918. May be a later showing of the film, or an earlier but lesser-known theater using this common name. Synopsis of the plot on the back panel describes a love story in which a ne'er-do-well prince in exile finally earns the blessing of his wife's industrialist father by saving his life during a strike by an unruly mob of workers in his factory. Front cover depicts the climactic scene, in which our hero holds a lit cigarette over a keg of gunpowder, holding back a mass of gun-wielding riff-raff. Bookseller Inventory # 189805
