HB DJ 1st GB Ed. Colour illustrated printed paper DJ not clipped. Brown cloth boards, gilt titles spine. 19.2 x 13cm. 143 pages. First published in France 1965 La Patience de Maigret. Translated for 1st GB Ed by Alastair Hamilton. Palmari had long been suspected of master-minding a series of successful jewel robberies. Maigret still retained a respect, even affection, for this strange man. So it was with a pang of regret, when news came that Palmari had been found shot in his wheel-chair in the flat which he had not left for years. Condition: Very slight top/bottom DJ spine rub. Boards good colour, titles vibrant, little wear, however remains of sellotape top and bottom front edge + back top bottom edge. o/p where sellotape lifted has scraped a line of the paste down and removed top layer - single think line. Following o/p tanned with echo of whatever had been on paste down. 2 green ticks + letter M top right corner. Similar sellotape marks on end papers. Last page of story large green tick in margin. Outer edge of pages collectively discoloured with age. Otherwise internally clean, little wear, tight binding, good colour. Apart from end papers VGC. Bookseller Inventory # 001773
