Memorial exhibition of 27 sculptures in marble, terra cotta, granite, plaster, wood, and bronze, including animal and bird carvings, busts, and larger figurative works, dating from 1926 to 1949. Introduction by Hermon More, with biographical sketch of the sculptor. Born in Germany, the brother of artist Ernest Fiene, Paul Fiene came to the U.S. in 1911. He served as assistant to Gaston Lachaise, whose influence is evident in his larger female figures; his last years were spent in Woodstock, where he taught in the Art Student League's summer school.
