Their experiences ranged from the breakout of Normandy on through to Salzburg.

About the Author:

The author was the youngest officer in the battalion when it was organized at Camp Rucker in 1943. He remained with the same battery for the entire war. Generally he was a forward observer travelling with the front-line infantry.
