Full red polished calf, green and brown morocco title labels, gilt titles, raised bands with elaborate decorative gilt compartments, gilt ruled boards and inner dentelles, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt, board edges with gilt roll, housed in custom red cloth slipcase, (8.75 x 5.5 inches). SIGNED BINDING. Finely bound, by Frost & Company, of Bath, England. Translated by Louise and Aylmer Maude, with an introduction by Aylmer Maude. 1352 pages; illustrated with map. Printed by R. & R. Clark, Edinburgh. A clean, tight and bright copy showing some minor wear at front hinge. A desirable finely bound copy of Tolstoy's classic and condidered by many to be among the best novels ever written. Size: Octavo.
