Title cut and laid down with an inked border, 29 engraved and etched plates, each with a guard. Contemporary half red morocco and marbled boards, some scuffing and rubbing, occasional marginal foxing and dusty margin, one plate with an ink spot, else a very good copy. *This work was issued and re-issued a number of times, up until 1886, under various imprints. The original edition was by EBENEZER RHODES, Sheffield, in 4 parts, 1818-1823. One of the engravings in the version here offered is after a drawing by Ebenezer's daughter. Another is by J. C. HOFLAND; the remainder are drawn by SIR FRANCIS CHANTREY. Some plates bear the imprint of JOHN MURRAY, 1818-1819; others are published by LONGMAN'S, 1822-1823. COPAC records various holdings but only the University of Nottingham has the above imprint.
