330, [10 adverts] pp., tinted frontispiece and two other fulll page plates, 7 chromolithographs and a folding map. The very scarce original edition, bound in a modern brick coloured morocco, with marbled boards. Repairs to the inner margins of the frontis and title page. A gift inscription on the verso of the frontispiece is to 'Mrs William H. Bliss | 525 Park Avenue, | New York, N.Y | from Mr Nash of | Black, Starr & Frost. ' Black, Starr and Frost are the oldest jewellers in America. There is also a later armorial bookplate of 'Farnham of Quorndon'. A very scarce work, notable for the beautiful chromolithographs of pearls. Streeter also produced works on Precious Stones, Diamonds and Gold. 8vo. Bookseller Inventory # 48240
