About this Item

Small 4to. Red cloth spine and heavy stock stiff glazed red, gold, and white marbled wrappers. 36pp. Fine/very good. Turn-of-the-century marbled wrappers are bright and pristine, while original outer wrappers (title page and concluding text page) are a bit age toned, lightly soiled and a bit edge chipped. First edition. Moore here defends the explorer against his many detractors and argues that his North Pole accomplishment be officially recognized and the National Geographic Society's report accepted. Moore (1864-1950) was a Pennsylvania representative from 1906 to 1920, but is better known as a two-time (not two-timing) mayor of Philadelphia (1920-23 and 1932-35). Bookseller Inventory # 32864
