About this Item

We're hereby presenting an original (not facsimile!) (376) pg publication of the ultra~scarce architectural rarity: 'Catalogue of East Side of New York Apartment Plans'~ this being an early ca. 1930's 'new' edition originated by Pease & Elliman, (now named Douglas~Elliman) which first was published twelve years prior (in the 1920's)~ this edition is by far the most elaborate book of its kind and shows the typical floor plans of (320) East Side apartment houses~ there is both a geographical index as well as one giving the number of rooms in each apartment shown~ in descending room size order: (18) rms: #845 Fifth Ave. @ 66th St. (designed by J.E.R. Carpenter in 1920) & #410 Park Ave. @ 55th St. (designed by Julius Harder in 1914)/ (17) rms: #'s 820 5th @ 63rd St. (designed by Starrett & Van Vleck in 1916) & 907 Fifth Ave. @ 72nd St. (also designed by J.E.R. Carpenter in 1916)/ #'s 630 Park Ave @ 66th St (also designed by J.E.R. Carpenter)/ 820 Park Ave @ 75th St (designed by Harry Allen Jacobs)/ & 903 Park Ave. @ 79th St (designed by Robt. T. Lyons)~ etc!~ also present are wonderful period advertisements for merchants & vendors to the trade!~ this classic publication has since been handsomely rebound in stately navy cloth boards with gilt title stamping @ head of spine~ thus a most unique, privately~ printed biblio acquisition for the urban architectural reference library!
