About this Item

About 21 to 23 very clean and still crisp, colored historical maps of Pennsylvania and it's region. Bound in a poor, 3/4 leather binding, with most of the spine missing. There is no title page or date. The spine's gilt lettering reads - "Appendix I -X". Some of the maps have on the outside, a lightly pencilled, general name, and original date of the individual map. The maps are so clean and are so crisp that I don't want to open them up, so I am taking some general information from a map's corner. One map that I partially opened had a few small closed tears in some folds. The large maps are: (1) a 1759 map by Nicholas Scull; (2) a 1749 map of eastern Pennsylvania by Lewis Evers (Evans?); (3) "British Colonies" about 1761; (4) "Eastern United States" by French, 1750; (5) English Colonies and Boundary", 1768; (6) "A Map of the State of Pennsylvania" by Reading Howell, 1792; (7) "New York, Conn., and Eastern Pennsylvania" by Sautier, 1777; (8) Mexico and the United States, in Spanish; (9) "A Map of Philadelphia" 1681, begun by William Penn; (10) a map by Lewis Evans, 1755; (11) "Middle British Colonies" 1755; (12) a map of Pennsylvania by Scull, 1770. There are in addition, 2 medium sized maps, and 8 small maps/plot plans. Bookseller Inventory # 13296
