These three volumes are Volumes XLII, XLIII, XLIV of the Proceedings of the Pennsylvania German Society. Vol. I: 1727-1775, 776 p., color frontispiece (Map of the Palatinate [a region of Germany] during the Eighteenth Century); Vol. II: Facsimilies of Signatures, 1727-1775, 893 p., color frontispiece (Harbor of Philadelphia, seen from New Jersey, based on Scull's Map of 1754); Vol. III. 1775-1808, and indexes, color frontispiece (Court House at Philadelphia, in which Oath of Allegiance was signed, from Drawing in The Historical Society of Pennsylvania). Drawn from the official lists of persons arriving in the Port of Philadelphia preserved in the archives of Pennsylvia, these records were published in their entirety for the first time in these volumes. The books list the passengers on 334 vessels carrying immigrants from Palatine and arriving in the Port of Pennsylvania in these years. The entries give information on the boats, the ship's personnel, the origin and stops of the trip, and the available information on the passengers (usually only names but sometimes ages, etc.). Small quartos, (10 1/2" x 7 3/4"), dark blue cloth hard covers, gilt titles on spines, printed on high-quality glossy paper, hinges firm, very near fine with slight wear at extremities. Because of size and weight, extra postage will be required. Bookseller Inventory # 051015RS
