Description:

Paperback. 48 pages. Dimensions: 8.3in. x 8.3in. x 0.4in.Penny-Anne was always going somewhere or doing something and wherever she went, or whatever she did, Duck-Duck went with her, tucked under her arm, trying not to look too uncomfortable. Sometimes Duck-Duck would be the right way up, in which case he could see where they were going, and sometimes he would be the wrong way up, with his head sticking out behind Penny-Anne, in which case he could see where they had been (even if everything did seem to be upside-down). Des Burnell wrote the Penny-Anne and Duck-Duck stories in the late 1950s for his very own Penny Anne. Needless to say, Penny Anne had her very own Duck Duck who sat and listened, as mesmerised as Penny Anne herself, to the bedtime stories that Des and his wife Hazel read to their beautiful, blonde, cheeky, clever little girl. So, it has taken fifty years but finally the stories have been taken from the cupboard, the dust brushed off, and the words retyped for other children to enjoy. As for Des, he never stopped writing. Penny Anne grew, married her Prince Charming and raised four strapping boys who all benefitted from Grandad Dess love of children and childhood. We await the next generation of avid listeners.
