About the Author:

Charles L. Reid was born August 13, 1927, in Bowling Green, KY. He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army Signal Corps and Quartermaster Corps after World War II. He holds a MA and Ph.D. in philosophy from Duke University and taught philosophy for 34 years in five colleges and universities, retiring in 1992. He has published two books, Basic Philosophical Analysis (Dickerson, 1971) and Choice and Action (Macmillan 1981), and articles and reviews in journals. He served several years at the state and local level in the National Education Association and its state affiliate, the Ohio Education Association in various offices.
