Full frontispice engraving of the Girard Avenue Bridge in Philadelphia and numerous other engravings throughout of other bridges, views of the manufacturing works, etc. Wraps are chipped about all edges and stabilzed with clear tape. Interior clean, small tape repair to the top edge of the title page. Very scarce. Promotional book for the Phoenixville (Pennsylvania) Bridge Works Company with information on wrought iron bridegs and viaducts built and under construction 1869-1873, a rprinting of the illustrated article on the company from Lippincott's magazine, January, 1873; appendix of loads and strains on bridges, an article "English and American Iron Bridges" from the July, 1870 Chicago Railroad Gazette.
