Quarto measuring 11" x 11". Three ring maroon plastic album. Contains 300 color photographs measuring 3.5" x 5" with captions. Near fine album with fine photographs. A photo album documenting a tour out west to Nevada, California, and Arizona in February 1979 with a focus on nature and more rugged touring. The album begins with the plane ride to Las Vegas with aerial shots of the mountains with a title of the trip reading, "Vegas Gun Show: Palm Springs: Baja, California: Arizona." Following this are photos from the Sahara Hotel, the views of the strip from their room, and "the first snow in 15 years." From there they traveled through Palm Springs to San Diego where they visited the Zoological Gardens and the San Diego Zoo. The next leg of the tour was a "Sea-Fari" up the Baja Peninsula which involved a coastal boat tour with stops at islands along the way. The boat trip took them to seal colonies, fishing communities, and various habitats along the coast. A grey whale swam by their boat on one leg and is seen here with a caption that reads, "the 'friendly whale' which came to our boat. She liked to take a shower under water coming from the boat. Would roll over and over, go under boat and come back again." Arizona was next on the itinerary and begins with a photo of a man in traditional Native American dress with a caption that reads, "89 years old - claims to be Geronimo's grandson. Was at Porter's Western Store in Tucson, Arizona." They went to Sedona and visited Bell Rock and toured the desert. A large section after this reads, "the following are many beautiful pictures of the Grand Canyon (South Rim) with snow, clouds, sunshine, sunset, and sunrise." A section of photos towards the end of the album includes photos of the Painted Desert and Little Colorado River Canyon.
