Mottled black cloth over boards, backed in black morocco; oblong 8vo, approx. 8 x 7 inches; pp. 25, with 200 sepia and b/w photographs (silver gelatins and albumens). A little scuffed along spine and edges of boards, else fine. A unique and seemingly homemade family album, containing group portraits and landscape photographs -- cute candid photographs of fat babies in little kitchen pots, women laughing and smoking, people swimming, and in one instance a woman in a fashionable get-up of the times, reclining in the outdoors (a much more conservative version of Manet's earlier controversial painting "Dejeuner sur l'herbe" from 1863). A few albumens a bit faded; some faint silvering on a few of the gelatins, but prettily so. Bookseller Inventory # D4256
